Information for parents
Football Football is a high quality programme creates new weekly opportunities for players to play football in a fun and enjoyable environment.
It is a structured programme that is designed to run for 1 hour every Saturday / Sunday morning throughout the year with the programme divided into sections to align with school terms, Easter and summer holidays.
The programme is a mix of coaching and small sided (5-a-side) games encouraging creativity, spontaneity as well as appropriate learning. All sessions will be led and supervised by a FA qualified coach.
This programme is based upon the child education principles of experiential learning. The core principles within the programme are the simplicity and freedom to play, similar to the values of the ‘street football’ and ‘jumpers for goalposts’ games of the past. These principles allow players to just play and have fun but in a safe environment with appropriately trained coaches who shape and guide the sessions, encouraging the child’s development.
The players will encounter the sheer joy of learning through play and the chance to have hundreds of touches of the ball per session.
The programme adheres to a strict ‘Commitment to quality’ developed with The FA that ensures:
-
Professional, FA qualified coaches deliver a structured education programme
-
A maximum of 10 players per coach ensure every player is developed
-
Everyone plays and our coaches are trained to ensure everyone is engaged
-
All coaches are CRB checked and hold emergency aid certificates
-
Players are grouped in 2 year age bands
-
Regular quality assurance, both internal & external
